Defining my Identity #14

- Find a hero who is currently living. Find their blog or website. Create a link to his site and explain what this person has done to attract my attention.

The first (Japanese) animated movie I had watched is “Princess Mononoke” by Miyazaki Hayao. This animation grasped a nine years old child’s attention. Since then, I watched all of his animated movies; his own style of plot and characters made it easier for me to understand the themes and remember them in detail. He was the one who inspired me to become an animation artist. Miyazaki Hayao is an anime director, animator, screenwriter, manga artist, and storyboard artist. Fulfilling those works to create the final result of animated movies could overwhelm him, but there are no flaws in his animations. Instead, the movie qualities are authentic. He claimed that he would only do the traditional animated movies, not the three dimensional movies which I agree to. Moreover, even though his animation is meant for children, the depth of the storylines and concepts are intense and contains many elements, but are simply portrayed. Therefore, all can understand what he is trying to say comfortably. Like his famous works, I would like to script animation movies and design characters for everyone so that I can deliver my messages to them in a stimulating way. He says that he tries to dig deep into the well of his subconscious. At a certain moment in life, he is available to open the lid and liberate ideas and visions. Through his work and progress, I definitely see his passion for animation. I strive to become like him who can move viewers’ minds and tell noteworthy concepts in an absorbing animation. Therefore, Miyazaki Hayao is my hero.
